A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT !
Welcome to the Rho Zeta Chapter of Chi Omega! My name is Danielle Insel, and I have the honor of serving as Chapter President for 2026. I’m hoping our website will help you learn more about who we are, what we value, and why this sisterhood means so much to the women who call it home.
Before coming to college, I was hesitant about going through recruitment. The idea of joining a sorority felt intimidating, and I wasn’t sure if I would fit in or find my place. The process seemed overwhelming, and I questioned whether it was something meant for me. But something in me kept coming back to the possibility, the chance to find community, to grow, and to push myself beyond comfort. After going back and forth, I finally submitted my recruitment application to Panhellenic, not knowing that the decision would change my entire college experience.
My ultimate goal of joining a sorority was to make friends, but I have found so much more: life-long relationships, deep connections, support, skills, the list is almost never-ending! Chi Omega is a compatible group of women with different personalities and backgrounds, but we come together to participate in something bigger than ourselves.
If someone had told my freshman‑year self that I would one day be introducing myself as the Chi Omega Chapter President, I would have never believed it. Yet here I am, and that is what makes Chi Omega so special to me, and the women in our Chapter. Everyone deserves a team of cheerleaders, and I found my support system here at Rho Zeta.

Chi Omega is a place of authenticity. We are a group of girls who are genuine, vulnerable, and true to themselves. Chi Omega is a sisterhood that promotes friendship. At the end of the day, what Chi Omega aims to achieve is for every girl to find sisters who will understand her, love her, and respect her. Your time at ECU is going to be one of the most amazing periods of your life. Of course, there are going to be days when you’re feeling down. And on those particular days, you need sisters who will lift you up and boost your spirits. Because of Chi Omega, I have sisters who will be there for me when times are tough and cheer me on when times are good.
Being a Chi Omega is having friends who hold you accountable. It’s being able to bless a child during a Make-A-Wish event at the front yard of our house. It’s having friends you can laugh with, grow with, and cry with. It’s a sisterhood that doesn’t just give you a place to belong, but it gives you room to become. Rho Zeta offers opportunities for leadership, self‑growth, and meaningful connection. It’s having the willpower to keep our Six Purposes at the peak of our sisterhood: scholarship, high values of personnel, integrity, friendship, campus involvement, and community service. These aren’t just words we recite- they’re principles we live out every day.

I hope this website gives you a glimpse into the sisterhood that has meant so much to me. Whether you’re a potential new member exploring your options, a parent wanting to learn more, an alumna reconnecting with the chapter, or simply someone curious about Chi Omega, I’m glad you’re here. We, as members of Chi Omega, are forever grateful for our home and all the women who have chosen to live by Chi Omega’s highest teachings. Fate has brought us together at ECU, but we are sisters on purpose.

LICO,
Danielle Insel
